SNL makes use of Britney Spears speak present Skit to handle the controversies of Gina Carano, Ted Cruz and Andrew Cuomo
After mastering Drew Barrymore, Saturday Night Live impressionist Chloe Fineman dabbled on Britney Spears this weekend as part of a contemporary talk show parody starring Cecily Strong as former Mandalorian star Gina Carano.
At the Fineman Front Cold Open, Spears hosted a Las Vegas-based talk show called Oops, You Did It Again! “I started this show so people would apologize for things they did wrong,” she said. “Because after the #FreeBritney documentary came out, I got hundreds of apologies every day.”
First up: Ted Cruz from Aidy Bryant. The Texas Senator was decked out in cornrows fresh from Cancun. “I’m not brownish,” Cruz insisted. “I just cried myself red over my Texans … Now I’m in a little bit of hot water that I was told nobody in Texas has.”
When asked if he had anything to apologize for, Cruz replied: “I deeply regret my actions over the past few days – mostly flying with United.”
Next came Andrew Cuomo from Pete Davidson. The New York Governor recently noted a lack of transparency regarding COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes. Instead of apologizing, he knocked out New York Mayor Bill De Blasio for asking for a full investigation.
“What did that bird bitch say about me? I will bury him in the highest grave this city has ever seen! “Said Cuomo.
Last but not least was Strong’s Carano, who was fired from The Mandalorian earlier this month after interpreting an Instagram post of her as an anti-Semitic defense of the Nazis.
“Look, I would never have made this Nazi comparison if I had known that everyone would be such a Nazi,” said Carano. When asked whether she felt like a victim of the abandonment culture, she replied: “Definitely. And I got canceled from Disney? Disney is the moral stronghold? Did you hear the accent of Br’er Rabbit on Splash Mountain recently? “
Despite her conservative views, Carano refused to be compared to Sen. Cruz. “I’m strong and you’re a bunch of soup,” she said to him.
