Ultra Music Festival is reportedly canceled for 2021.
With no festival lineup going on in just a few months and with coronavirus (COVID-19) cases still on the rise, the news isn't exactly a shock. This is the second time the major music festival has to be canceled due to the pandemic. It was one of, if not the first, in 2020 to be canceled due to COVID-19.
Organizers are considering the highly anticipated return of Ultra by 2022, according to a report from Billboard. In a letter received from the publication, Ultra attorney Sandy York addresses Miami city administrator Arthur Noriega: "We respectfully request an appointment for March 25, 26 and 27, 2022."
An Ultra employee gave Billboard another explanation:
Given the current status of the pandemic in terms of mass gatherings and public health considerations in our local community, we are working with our city partners and plan to release an official festival update soon.
Look forward to an official announcement.
