Rapid Coronavirus (COVID-19) test kits are emerging and may change the way people test at home or before going to public spaces, including concert venues.
Swallowing events is behind a new kit specially developed for the live event industry. This is the first company to offer its rapid testing service to event organizers in the UK and around the world. The process includes 15-minute "pop-up" tests (99.68% specificity) performed by government-approved health professionals.
With the ability to test for COVID-19 in the field, with results in just a few minutes, there is a chance major events could reoccur. The main shutdown for smaller events is the cost as test kits start at £ 13 per pop with a minimum of 100 units.

The events industry has been forgotten and destroyed by the COVID-19 pandemic. While this is a common misconception, events were actually allowed to take place in the UK in 2020. However, guidelines on this are unclear, with the final decision often being based on the opinion of an individual at the local level.
There are instances where events have been approved and licenses issued which are then revoked at the last minute, which only serves to exacerbate financial problems and job losses for the industry. With this in mind, we are very proud to announce that we are the first UK event company to offer a rapid on-site testing service for COVID-19 in just 15 minutes.
