Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to a convicted criminal illegally possessing a gun and ammunition, the TMZ reports and the Justice Department confirmed. The original charges arose in an incident in December 2019 in which authorities searched Wayne's private plane upon arrival at Miami-Grandpa Locka Executive Airport and found that he was carrying a gold-plated pistol in his luggage.
The Wayne hearing is scheduled for January 28, 2020. The charge, which he found guilty, carries a maximum federal sentence of 10 years.
