Is Disney + planning a Wolverine Anthology series?

Wolverine may restart within the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the small screen via Disney +. Thanks to the merger of Disney and Fox, which went into effect in 2019, Marvel Studios, also owned by Disney, now have control of the X-Men. We have known for a while that the franchise itself will restart at some point. Now we have the word that the most famous mutant of all may get his own anthology series.

Though not confirmed by Marvel Studios or Disney, a new report claims that a wolverine The Disney + anthology series is in early development. The report compares the show to American horror story, in which each season tells a different story than the character’s long story. Due to the character’s slow aging, multiple stories could be told over several decades. It is said that the first season would adapt the plot of Weapon X. This is the program that Wolverine gave his Adamantium skeleton and iconic claws.

Most importantly, the post states that no actor has been cast yet. Assuming this is actually true, it makes sense as it is supposedly in its early stages. Hugh Jackman portrayed the character for nearly two decades, from the X-Men of 2000 to Logan of 2017. Replacing Jackman whenever and wherever Wolverine shows up in the MCU will be an enormous hurdle to overcome to overcome applies.

Wolverine was created by Roy Thomas, Len Wein, and John Romita Sr. When he debuted on the pages of The Incredible Hulk # 180, the claw-fisted mutant eventually became not only a key member of the X-Men, but also one of the most popular characters in the entire Marvel universe. In this case, a restart within the confines of the MCU is all but inevitable. Though it always seemed like he was going back in a movie. Not necessarily on a TV show.

But the advent of Disney + has opened many new doors. The Mandalorian gave Star Wars a massive boost and has become arguably the most popular thing in the franchise since Disney bought Lucasfilm. On the Marvel side, both WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier have proven extremely successful. Plus there are many more MCU shows like She-Hulk, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight to name a few. There’s no reason a Wolverine anthology couldn’t exist in the streaming world either.

It is also noted that these stories could be told without affecting the likely appearance of the character in future MCU films. A reboot of the X-Men movie is likely to happen in Phase 5 of the MCU, and the project, titled The Mutants, is rumored to have entered development. This has yet to be confirmed at this point. But the mutants are coming. That’s for sure. We will definitely keep you informed as soon as further details on the alleged project become available. This message comes to us via That Hashtag Show.
