HBO Max & # 39; Rom-Com Lockdown Pandemic Heist places all-star forged collectively for director Doug Liman
Several projects are currently being worked on addressing the current global situation as it seems that audiences need to be reminded of the hell of 2020. Next up is a heist-rom-com with the title Curfew and is led by Edge of Tomorrow and Doug Liman, director of The Bourne Identity. The film was recently acquired by Warner Bros. under a major global rights agreement and will feature star cast from Anne Hathaway, Chiwetel Ejiofor. Ben StillerStephen Merchant, Lucy Boynton, Ben Kingsley, Mindy Kaling and Dule Hill.
Lockdown was written by Steven Knight of Peaky Blinders and is set against the backdrop of the recent Covid-19 lockdown. The film tells the story of how the sparring couple Linda (Anne Hathaway) and Paxton (Chiwetel Ejiofor) put their differences aside and sign a truce to attempt a high-risk, high-stakes jewelry heist at the world's most exclusive department store, Harrods.
Lockdown is reportedly set to premiere on HBO Max in early 2021 as the streaming service continues to build its catalog of original footage and recently announced that all new releases from Warner Bros will be appearing simultaneously on HBO Max and in theaters next year.
Lockdown is just one of the few upcoming projects that deal with the current situation. The thriller Songbird produced by Michael Bay should also remind us of our devastating reality. After four years of quarantine, the COVID-23 virus has mutated and infected Americans are now being ripped from their homes and forced into quarantine camps known as Q-Zones. In the midst of this dystopian landscape, a fearless courier, Nico, who is immune to the deadly pathogen, finds hope and love in Sara, although her blocking forbids them physical contact. When Sara is said to have become infected, Nico races desperately through the barren streets of Los Angeles in search of the only thing that can save her from imprisonment … or worse.
Directed by Adam Mason, who co-wrote the script with Simon Boyes and was produced by Michael Bay, Adam Goodman, Andrew Sugerman and Eben Davidson, Songbird star KJ Apa and Sofia Carson as the star-crossed couple in the center of the film with Craig Robinson, Bradley Whitford, Peter Stormare, Alexandra Daddario, Paul Walter Hauser and Demi Moore in supporting roles. It was recently announced that the film will be released by STXfilms as premium video on demand on December 11, 2020.
In the event that it all sounds way too depressing, comedic producer, writer, and director Judd Apatow recently signed an exclusive deal with Netflix to stream his untitled comedy on the subject of a pandemic direct streaming. The film will reportedly follow a group of actors and actresses trapped in a pandemic bubble in a hotel trying to complete a movie. Insiders have also claimed that thanks to the sheer number of high-profile roles in the film, we could have another high-star cast similar to that of director Rian Johnson's Knives Out.
Doug Liman In the meantime, Tom Cruise is also set to reunite for an action film in which the couple ventures into space to film. He and Cruise will actually take off on one of Elon Musk's SpaceX launches to risk their lives on cinematic entertainment. This comes to us from deadline.
