Why women kill clip: dancing with the peta of the stars and maks do the tango
The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 17 & # 39; Brothers & # 39; Sneak peek
Jeannie Mai has left Dancing With the Stars for health reasons. Mai announced the news on Good Morning America, saying she was diagnosed with epiglottitis, which causes inflammation and swelling in the throat. She has since been hospitalized for treatment for the disease.
In her statement, Mai said, "My doctors have discovered a health problem with my throat that requires immediate attention and surgery. I am broken that my DWTS trip has to end here. I have reached new limits, physically and mentally, and I'm so proud of how far we've come. "
May's DWTS partner Brandon Armstrong also released a statement on GMA: "We are devastated by the news that we have to cancel this season, but Jeannie's health comes first."
The show confirmed the news in a tweet, saying, "Jeannie, along with millions of fans, has inspired us with her energy and dedication. We wish her a full and speedy recovery."
Monday's DWTS episode was originally supposed to feature a double elimination, but now only one pair will be sent home due to May's elimination.
Mai and Armstrong narrowly avoided getting knocked out on last week's villain-themed episode and were in the bottom two pairs after getting a score of 25 from the judges for their Silence of the Lambs-inspired paso double / 30 received. The judges eventually voted to save Mai and Armstrong, eliminating Monica Aldama and Val Chmerkovskiy instead.
Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
