Bruce Springsteen and Foo Fighters to Play at Biden-Harris Inauguration Occasion

Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, and John Legend will perform at a televised event for the inauguration of Joe Biden and his vice president–elect, Kamala Harris, next Wednesday (January 20), The New York Times reports. The actors Eva Longoria and Kerry Washington also joined the lineup for the event, which will be hosted by Tom Hanks, with artists including Justin Timberlake, Jon Bon Jovi, and Demi Lovato performing.

Billed as “Celebrating America,” the 90-minute event will take place Wednesday evening. Biden and Harris will also deliver speeches. Longoria and Harris will introduce “stories of young people making a difference in their communities,” according to a press release cited by the Times. The full schedule has not yet been announced; major networks and various social and streaming media will host the broadcast.

On January 18, a separate, pre-inauguration event will feature James Taylor, Carole King, Fall Out Boy, Ben Harper, and Will.i.am, among others, People reports. Keegan-Michael Key and Debra Messing will host that one.

The Presidential Inaugural Committee revealed yesterday that Lady Gaga would sing the National Anthem at the swearing-in ceremony, where Jennifer Lopez will also perform.
